The Bulgarian Euro-Atlantic Youth Club, supported by NATO, organized a week-long international seminar in the period 3-9 June 2018 in Smolyan, Bulgaria, on the topic “NATO: Strengthening Transatlantic Dialogue and Cooperation in 2018”.
This year’s seminar focused on addressing NATO’s top priority actions for dealing with the challenges in the changing international environment. More specifically, the key topics during the main five days of the seminar included: Bulgaria’s membership and priorities in NATO, #WEARENATO Campaign, the impact of BREXIT on the Common Foreign and Security policy of the EU, the NATO-EU cooperation, the unpredictable behavior of North Korea, the continuing fight against ISIS and terrorism in general, cyber security and cyber defense, the impact of fake news, NATO relations with Russia after the presidential elections in 2018, future enlargement of NATO, and the new role of NATO in Afghanistan among others.
30 young people from more than 16 countries took part in the event. The lecturers were prominent experts and professors in the field of the international relations. You can see the program of the seminar here:
